My story

I'm Vasco.

My grandfather was an archaeologist and History teacher, and my mother followed in his footsteps too — as for me, I'm still missing my master's degree, but until then, it'll be my pleasure to teach you.

I was fortunate enough to study in Rome, where I lived in Trastevere and had teachers who taught their classes on-site, in the actual places. Sometimes we'd stop on a street I'd walked down dozens of times, and it just took someone pointing out one detail for me to never look at that street the same way again. I loved the way they valued and shared the heritage around them. That's the same urge to share I bring to Beyond Tejo: helping people visiting Portugal get to know the places and the stories that most people walk straight past.
